The Blockbuster vs. Multiple-Minis
Hollywood is built on blockbusters. The $200 million dollar movies that gross a billion dollars. Most movies lose money in the theatre, but the studios field them hoping to snag a winner, they swing for the fences to knock a blockbuster out of the park.

Blockbusters for you.
A blockbuster for businesses like yours and mine might be coverage on the evening news or a full page spread in the biggest paper in the region, right?

Blockbusters are nice, but they don't always come through. If you wait for one, you might see your season pass you by.

Multiple-minis.
Small victories are just not that exciting. Reinforcing a partnership or landing a photo with a caption just isn't worth a big party. It isn't a blockbuster no matter how hard you try to make it one.

However, "minis" add up. Landing 10 small mentions, partnerships, or photo captions might actually equal a blockbuster and minis are easier to land.

Think of it this way: What's more stable? Having one client with whom you to $10,000 of business or 10 clients with whom you do $1,000 each?

What happens in each scenario when you lose just one client?

Work on the minis, then swing for the fences. Motivate yourself to chase the mini-victories first. Then once you have the confidence you need, swing for the blockbuster.

Even if you miss the blockbuster you already have your mini-victories in the bag.

Ready for the prime season? To achieve victory, think small and many. When you're ready, swing for the fences.
