Hugh, The Maze Master
Hugh's Reviews
Each week Hugh reviews something, anything really, that has provoked a thoughtful insight.

I love my voice recorder.
This is an off-shoot of my appreciation for my Blackberry, but I love my voice recorder.

It is so handy, since I always have my phone, to have a voice recorder to capture thoughts, PR ideas, to-do lists, and more.

Top Three Voice Recorder Uses:
1. To Do lists. I walk the park in the morning making notes of everything I see that needs done, then I return to the office and prioritize the list as I playback the recording. (I use color-coded To-Do lists I call Action Lists. You can use it too, click here.)

2. Advertising ideas.
Normally as I drive, I skip the music and listen to audiobooks. If an idea from the book strikes me, I make a brief recording of the idea, the ad copy, or actually script I want in the ad.

3. Attraction notes. We are always looking for materials, puzzles, ideas, and creative solutions for new attractions. As I explore museums, science centers (especially), zoos, or fun centers, I make verbal notes to catch not only the information, but the feeling I had at the time of the note. (I also use my camera phone for pictures.)

All this connects to my concept of Capturing Brilliance I wrote about a long time ago and have updated for my blog here.

Give your voice recorder a try and you might be surprised how smart you really are.
